"The Bears Are Coming..!" (11 minutes)

This is a short piece introducing the Easthampton City Arts' "Bear Festival" (June-October).

130 local and regional artists entered a competition to be commissioned to paint one of the thirty-five bears that were to be placed in and around the city centre on July 13th and which will be on display until October (when they will all be auctioned-off for charity).

The artists' submissions were on display in the gallery at EastWorks, where a launch-party was held (in Februrary), and many of them are featured in "The Bears are Coming..!"

The 35 pristine fibreglass bears were also gathered together for everyone to see in a unique, once-in-a-lifetime event, captured on video, and a great time was had by all.

"The Bears are Coming..!" was shown on local Community Access stations, including Easthampton's Channel 5 (ECAT), ACTV (Amherst) and NCTV (Northampton), during February and March.
